JetRock was founded in 2015 by a data scientist and a data engineer to help oil and gas companies bridge the gap between raw data and actionable results.
After working together at a big-box oil and gas data vendor that offered generic analysis, the founders of JetRock realized a more hands-on, client specific approach is the only way to provide truly valuable analytics. JetRock prides itself on our no-nonsense approach to answering our client’s specific business questions.
KEVIN THUOT
Co-Founder + Analytics Engineer
Prior to forming JetRock, Kevin worked on the analytics team at DrillingInfo (now Enverus) as a senior analyst. He is passionate about building elegant code-based solutions to the most difficult of problems and delivering them to clients in ways that separate the signal from the noise. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
JUSTIN BIRMINGHAM
Co-Founder + Data Engineer
Justin has been leveraging data technology in the oil and gas space since the early 2000s. He loves the strategy and problem solving required to build efficient, robust systems to support actionable analytics. Justin helps set the vision and strategy of the company while always searching for ways to shrink the gap between data and decisions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas State University.
ZACH HOWARD
Director of Business Development
Zach brings 15 years of technical and operations experience in both the upstream and midstream sectors. He’s held positions with Merit Energy and Pioneer Natural Resources focused on reserves replacement and drilling and completions in the Gulf of Mexico and the Lower 48 States. Most recently he was a part of the Professional Services team at NCR Corp where he managed global client delivery programs and product development. He’s passionate about building meaningful relationships and delighting his clients, and is responsible for new business development. Zach holds a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science from Texas State University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
JENNA SALAMAH
Senior Analytics Engineer
Prior to joining JetRock, Jenna held the position of technical team leader at Quantum Reservoir Impact (QRI) where she led technology development of analytical tools. In her role as a business intelligence analyst at JetRock, she strives to tailor analysis to highlight the most important pieces of intelligence to help drive client strategy. Jenna holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
DAMON NEW
Senior Data Engineer
Damon has spent the last 20 years designing, architecting, and building data systems and products for the oil and gas industry. He has an affinity for gaining comprehensive knowledge of technology to get the most out of the latest possible solutions. In his role as a data engineer, Damon enhances and maintains the foundational data system that supports the JetRock analyst team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Geology Science Sequence from The University of Texas at Austin.
TYLER LYNN
Analytics Engineer
Prior to joining JetRock, Tyler was a research assistant at Texas State University in the Computer Science department where he worked on the development of an application meant to provide access to interactive visualizations and machine learning tools for biomedical researchers. In his role as an Analytics Engineer, Tyler works on the development of data analytic systems tailored to meet the unique strategic needs of each client. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Texas State University.
IGOR BEKKER
Data Engineer
Igor has spent over 25 years delivering innovative IT solutions in Local Government and Public Utilities arenas, specializing in business automation, data management, and systems integrations. He applied knowledge of Public Utilities and data technologies to design and deploy cloud-based infrastructure for a global Water Systems leak detection company. In his current role as Data Engineer at JetRock, Igor is assisting in maintaining data infrastructure and developing new solutions for integrating JetRocks cloud platform with clients systems. Igor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from St. Petersburg Military Academy and is a graduate of Computer Systems Institute.
BEN SCHWARTZ
Analytics Engineer
Benjamin recently graduated as a computer science student from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He specialized in the field of data science, with a particular focus on machine learning. His previous role at National Seating and Mobility was instrumental in shaping his abilities, as he took charge of automating daily tasks and spearheaded the development of applications that streamlined supply chain operations. With a solid foundation in web development, machine learning, and software engineering, he thrives on embracing novel challenges and contributing to innovative projects within the dynamic tech industry. In his role as an Analytics Engineer, he is eager to apply his expertise in developing customized data analytic systems that cater to the distinct strategic needs of every client.
Max holds a background in Data Science, specializing in A/B testing for the brick-and-mortar retail sector, where he has a proven record of utilizing data-driven decision-making processes to create significant value for clients. As an Analytics Engineer at JetRock, he designs personalized data analytics systems, aligning them with each client’s unique strategic requirements. He is a proud alumnus of Michigan State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics.
